I had this kettle for 8 months when it developed a fault. I contacted the supplier and they arranged for a replacement to be sent to me upon the return of the faulty one, Good service is always a bonus when you need it and it works properly, and this was good service.

What i need to explain is that in fact it seems to be in fact an efficient unit- i origionally thought it was leaking after two months of usage but in fact i was overfilling the unit so it specifies 1.8litre capacity so stick to the manufacturing capacity requirements of 1.8 litres per fill otherwise it will leak out from the drainage holes inside at the top of the handle and you may think it’ leaking from the base so be aware of the specification of this item- top class👍
Thank you also to Amazon in this instance for offering assistance by phone call again class👌

Bought this kettle in the spring of 2020 for lowish domestic use. (Say 2 to 3 boils per day) It went very well for about two years, after which, we started to notice that sometimes, when boiling point was reached, the “on” thumb switch flipped to the “off” position as usual, but boiling would continue indefinitely !

    I felt obliged to investigate.

The kettle temperature control is fairly normal and works by taking a small quantity of steam and passing it from the interior to the temperature sensor in the top of the handle which consists of a bi-metallic element. This element, when operated, causes the thumb switch to move from “on” to “off” position. When this movement occurs, the contact actuator part of the thumb switch pushes the contacts open and water heating stops.

    Two important points were noted.

1 – Incorrect material choice – The handle assembly was fastened to the kettle body with small electroplated mild steel setscrews. The upper screw was sited in the “steam flow” to the thermostat and was therefore exposed to moisture at every use. It is easy to imagine the results. When steel rusts/corrodes there is a tendency for it to expand and ultimately fail. In this case expansion and corrosion was significant although failure did not quite occur but distortion to the switch actuator position was evident, such that the steam flow over the bi-metallic element was probably altered.

2 – Non-functional thermostat- More importantly, the part of the plastic switch actuator that would normally operate the heater control contact was found to have significant wear. This wear was probably caused by the soft plastic of the actuator pushing against the much harder bronze contact component. This wear was great enough to fail to open the control contact when boiling point was reached and the thumb switch was pushed to the “off” position by the bi-metallic element.

It would appear that this kettle did not have sufficiently extensive testing before going into production. The use of mild steel screws in a moist area is difficult to understand.

Looking at some other reviews, it would appear that several plugs have suffered fairly catastrophically after use, probably caused by incorrect materials being used during manufacture. Some of the pictures show a potentially lethal fault. If anyone has concerns in this area, a simple change of plug BEFORE failure of the original occurs would be expedient.

Always use a decent plug for any load over about 1 KW to avoid such problems (Say one made by MK) and ensure that the fuse is rated appropriately.

This kettle is ok, but I was disappointed that it seems to take forever to boil!! So much so, that I’ve actually put it back in the box and will only use it as a spare or offload it on someone else!!!!

    Hello 🖖,
It is a decent kettle; I could not ask for more in this price.

    The packaging contents 📦:
    ➡️ the kettle body
➡️ the kettle stand with wire coming out of it.

    The ✅ of the product:
    ✔️ Stainless steel, not plastic
    ✔️ Good build quality
✔️ Easy to clean, but I would not cook in it.
✔️ Can boil your water for a quick two cups of tea under 3 minutes.
✔️ three pin common port, you would be surprised how many kettle companies think grounding pin is not required. Glad that is not the case here.
✔️1.8 liters, 1500W just as mentioned in the product description.
    ✔️ Auto shut down works

    Product ⛔ s:
❌ the steel does get hot, always use the handle to not burn yourself.
❌auto shut down kicks in after a while, I think it kicks in when 1.8 L of water would boil. 1,8 of course being the maximum limit.
❌ there is no filter when pouring, only small holes.

    Note:
⚠️ the plastic lid on the top gets hot as well, so be careful while opening after using it

💬 In conclusion: pretty decent kettle, decent volume and lightweight. filters could be added, hence the 4 stars. But if price alone counts, it’s a good choice.

    💡 Product reviewed on 24/10/2023 📆 at a price of € 11.23💰.
