I have been using this kettle for a few weeks. I took only two lots of boiling to rid it from the factory smell. I like the way you can oil small quantities of water. It’s relatively quiet. The spout is excellent. It pours so well. So far it is the best white kettle I have had over many years

Sleek. Works well but boils for a while before turning off which is a concern. Drops when ending pour. Decent for the price.

This is probably one of the least expensive kettles I’ve ever bought but also one of the best! It’s light which is amazing as my grip not so good. It boils very fast, spout doesn’t dribble like some. I can find no negative things about this. Lid opens easily so great to fill, water level is clear. I 100% recommend this kettle, I’m very happy with it.

I purchased this Russell Hobbs kettle to replace my old kettle when it stopped working. It’s actually the exact same model of kettle that I had previously which had lasted for 6 years and took some heavy use. I was really pleased with it so decided just to replace it with the same model.
It’s a stylish kettle with a mixture of high gloss and matte finish which makes it look more expensive than it actually is and fits in with the look of my other appliances.
It’s plastic which makes it lightweight, which is good since I have hypermobile joints in my hand so don’t have the strength for a heavy kettle. This kettle would also suit those with arthritic hands for the same reason. The handle is joined to the body of the kettle at both ends, which also helps with the handling of it. Despite being plastic however, it is very durable.
The kettle sits on a 360° base making it suitable for both right and let handed use. The water level window is also suitable for both right and left handed users as it is viewable from both sides of the kettle and shows markers for 2,4 or 6 cups and the maximum level.of 1.7L. This also makes it easy to see how much water you are filling the kettle with, but there are also markers inside if you prefer to use those.
There is a push button to open the lid and an ideal pour spout which I have always found to work well with little to no spillage. There is also a removable limescale filter in the spout that can be popped out with the little clip, rinsed under the tap and replaced.
When switched on, the on/off switch will be lit up and the kettle will automatically switch off once it has boiled which is handy since I always seem to be doing ten jobs at once and don’t have time to keep an eye on the kettle. For the same reason I like that the kettle is rapid boil as I’m always short of time but I do love a cup of tea, several a day actually.
It’s not the quietest of kettles but it’s also not too loud either and being able to boil just enough water for the amount of cups you want makes it energy efficient.
I’m more than happy with it and if this model of kettle is still around whenever this one decides to quit on me, I will probably just buy the exact same model again. For such a good price I can’t fault it.

I recently needed a new kettle after many years and chose the Russell Hobbs Black 300W, thanks to a recommendation by my Brother and the added bonus that it was on sale. I’m glad that I did!
Firstly, the kettle holds 1.7 litres of water, more than enough for the trio I usually make tea for, and (as stated on the box) generally boils a cup worth within 45 seconds. Although made of plastic, the kettle is extremely durable and surprisingly light to pick up, a fact not lost on other members of my family!
The lid springs open conveniently at the touch of a nearby button, allowing the kettle to be filled easily, while the bottom on/off switch illuminates while boiling is in progress. This is a nice safety feature which my last kettle sadly did not have.
A transparent water level window on the side of the kettle lets us know how full it is, although I found that after several uses this unfortunately tended to steam up and become less easy to decipher. However, one good feature is a trio of plastic markers inside which show us when 3 cups worth of water have been added, so this does help offset the minor problem with the external level indicator.
Some fellow reviewers have complained that the kettle is noisy, but is no more so than others I have used and besides, at least this noise lets me hear when the water is on the boil as I am usually doing other tasks in the meantime! Furthermore, unlike other reviewers, I have never experience any leakages from the spout, and have indeed used the kettle many times to date. Whether this happens at a later date remains to be seen.
The kettle comes supplied with a round base and cord to plug it into a power socket. Both are sturdy and well made, much like the kettle itself.
I am very satisfied with this Russell Hobbs kettle and recommend it wholeheartedly, especially since the appliance is so quick to produce results and also extremely energy efficient, too!

Apologises I have reviewed the toaster with this kettle/toaster in error has the kettle. Both items I am pleased with. 1 toaster browns well & outside compartment dose not get to hot to touch also quiet workings. 2 Kettle boils well & quick quiet boiling I chose black set which, looks good value for money
