This replaces another brand of kettle, which I had liked so much that I bought an identical model when it failed and again when the 2nd one failed. The third one failed. Average life span 3 years and four months. Guarantee period: 3 years. So now it is time to get something else. This looks good, has a three year guarantee, and is substantially cheaper than the previous kettle. No 3kw kettle is silent, but this is not too loud. Quick to boil. The water tastes fine. The lid opens wide, easily. The handle and switch are black plastic so It has slightly less presence than a kettle costing much more, but is is much better value.

This is great looking and is relatively quiet. The only thing I would say and I will mention this to Amazon or Russell Hoobs is that when you pour it vibes out of the lid. Water goes everywhere so I’m not happy and for that reason I can’t recommend this.

Replacement for a similar model, works well, boils quickly and has a single cup setting. I have see the condensation other reviewers have mentioned but is not an issue for me.
