For a well-known brand I was expecting top-notch quality with this television and I’m not disappointed! The clarity and picture is superb!

This 43″ flat screen television is 965 mm wide and the height of the screen is 566 mm. It’s slim-screened but will need a 219 mm depth to accommodate the legs. There are 2 silver metal legs rather than a central one and they split the weight from the front to the back. The legs screw on and are simple enough to do, but make sure your television cabinet or stand is of an adequate size to safely position them. (Our stand wasn’t suitable for the legs, so we set the TV up the spare room for a week whilst the new stand arrived 🙈).
Including the legs, the clear height you need for this television is 617 mm. It’s not crucifyingly heavy for such a large screen either which is nice, yet it’s sturdy and stable.

This latest generation Fire TV is equipped to deal with Prime Video, Alexa, and all the usual stuff and will pair with other smart home devices too. It also collects all of your favourite apps and channels and places them on the home screen too which is useful.
There’s a remote and batteries included and the TV connects to the Wi-Fi easily.
It’s an ultra HD 4K screen, which to me means high definition and great resolution with a great picture qualtity and that it certainly is! The picture is clear with vivid colour and the sound is brilliant!

One of the first things I check for on TV is the ports on the back and this one has several HDMI ports (4) and 2 USB ports, as well as the standard aerial and ethernet points.
There are too many variables that you can choose on the settings to describe, but I will mention the various viewing modes as they are always good to have (dynamic, cinema etc),which I do feel makes a difference.
One other thing that is good to know for any gamers, (we have a couple in our house), is that there is a specific gamer mode which speeds up any lag, making a difference during gameplay (my son confirms this).

I haven’t had chance to appreciate or use all of the apps or capabilities offered on this TV as yet and the chance of even getting a look in half the time is rare (even less so now than before!), but it is a crisp, clear picture and delivers wonderful immersive sound.

Slightly more expensive than many televisions of this size, but the build quality, make and capability of this TV speaks for itself.
Very, very nice and fully recommended.

The media could not be loaded.

This is the first TV I’ve used with fire TV built in. It functions exactly the same as a firestick so if you’ve ever used one of those you’ll be right at home. If it’s your first smart TV then the menus and functions are very intuitive so it shouldn’t be too daunting.

Picture quality – Brightness and colours look decent. There’s some small light bleed from the corners and side which you would expect from an LED TV. It’s nothing that would distract from normal viewing. TV shows and films look very good in 4k UHD with the dolby vision automatically kicking in when watching dolby enabled content so you don’t have to mess with the picture settings to get the best viewing experience..

It handles gaming well and switches the picture mode to ‘Game’ automatically when you switch the hdmi to a playstation or other games console then switches it back to your normal setting when you turn it off. It’s really intuitive.

Sound quality – The one thing I like with LED panels over thinner and more expensive OLED / QLED TVs is the sound quality is always far better. This fire TV is no exception with very good sound quality and clear dialogue. You can connect it to a soundbar or external speakers but the sound is good enough that you don’t need to.

Design – The bezels at the front are really thin which gives the TV a premium look. The legs at the bottom are easy to fix with 4x screws. They’re clearly labelled and can only fit one way so they’re well designed. There’s quite a large bevel at the back of the TV but it’s not too intrusive and if you find yourself regularly looking at the back of the TV then you may have installed it the wrong way round.

Connectivity – Around the back it has 4x HDMI ports with one eARC supported, 2x USB ports, 1x aerial in, 1x satellite in, ethernet port, optical out, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a 3.5mm AV mini jack. All the ports are located on the right hand side when looking at the screen with the power cable on the left hand side. The power cable is quite short at 1.5 meters so if you dont have a power socket very close you will likely need an extension cable. The power cable isn’t hard wired so you could pick up a 2.5A 250v figure of 8 cable at a longer length if needed.

If you’re wall mounting, the VESA holes are 200 x 200 which is fairly standard for this size of TV. It’s not particularly heavy so can be lifted by one person relatively easily, although I’d recommend at least 2 people to wall mount it.

Connectivity via WiFi is straightforward which can be done by putting your WiFi password in via the remote or through your phone via the Fire TV app. Bluetooth pairs and connects quickly and playback via a Bluetooth speaker or headphones is clear with no delay between sound and picture. As it has Amazon fire TV built in it connects seamlessly to other amazon products you may have. It synced with my amazon account instantly and pulled all my apps and log in info from my current firestick.

Software – As mentioned the TV has Fire TV built in which is straightforward to use. You don’t get the range of third party apps as you do on Google TV however all the main streaming apps are included so it should be fine for the majority of people. You can sideload apps to the TV in the same way you can on a firestick if you’re more tech savvy. The TV guide is handled by freeview play and it was incredibly quick to search and store channels. It was up and running in under a minute. Scrolling through the TV guide was quick with no pauses or delays.

Misc.- The remote is easy to use with dedicated buttons for Netflix, amazon prime and freeview play. There’s alexa built in where you hold down the mic button and provide a command. It worked well and handled instructions to play certain shows in certain apps without any issues. I really like the addition of the apps button to take you to your installed apps list along with a dedicated customisable button to open any app of perform a set function. You can even program it to provide a command to alexa.

It’s a decent all in one smart TV. If you’re used to using a firestick or have a ring doorbell or other smart devices then it’s a good option.
