I was initially dismissive of this as it didn’t seem to fit all too well, but given proper time adjusting it (ensuring it’s perfectly centred in all directions) I can now confidently say it has significantly improved the comfort of my headset.

After buying an aftermarket 3d printed option, I was left with spots and marks on my face (which hurt!). This one is infinitely better. The plastic moulding is well made, and PU leather is amazingly comfortable. I do long endurance races in VR and this thing has made all the difference.

You get two options for the gasket padding and both give great FOV. The thicker one is just so comfortable.

    Great upgrade for the G2

First things first this beats the original g2 face plate that thing wasn’t comfy at all. This is a complete game changer. First of the comfort you don’t even realise it’s on your face. While playing I was honestly scared to move around so much cause I felt like the g2 would fall off my face it’s so light you don’t even feel it. So far I’ve only used the thin padding and not does it do the job. I mainly brought this for fov, and I’m pleased to tell you this about increases your fov by a considerable amount. So you can be fully immersed in whatever your playing. This is worth every penny completely game changer for me so far.

I bought this to get my eyes closer to the G2’s screens, and thus increase the overall FOV.
The quality of the product is very high, this is no 3D-printed product, this is injection moulded plastic and it shows in the overall quality of the plastic – no sharp edges here.
The gasket has the required magnets already fitted, so you are good to go straight from the box.
Included are 2 PU leather foams, and these are 2 different thickness – not sure the exact mm, but I use the thinnest one. You attach one to the gasket via the Velcro, this also feels a quality feel to it, no cheap Velcro that wears away after a few uses. I like that the loops part of the Velcro, on the gasket, are not just randomly stuck on, they are properly fitted to the gasket, and don’t look like they’ll come off.
Fitting the a leather foam insert is a bit fiddly, you sort of have to start from one of the very corners near the nose area, then gently go around the gasket pressing the insert each part of the way. It’s very easy to end up with part of it not actually touching the gasket, or not lined up properly.
Once installed, I can get my face and eyes really tight to the headset and lenses. I do gain a little FOV, and also things look a little clearer. The material feels colder than foam, at first, and as your face and eyes warm the material you quickly forget about it. One issue though, and it could annoy a few users at first. IF your room is cold, or the headset is cold, I am finding the lenses fog-up a lot more than the standard gasket. This could be because once the headset is on, the fit is actually tight, mostly due to the PU leather material.
I found I had to keep taking the headset off, for the first 15 minutes or so, and wipe off the condensation.
A quick hairdryer, on low setting, will fix this. But the fogging still comes back at times. This needs to be taken into consideration, it might annoy some, not bother others. Biggest test will be once the summer hit, and we get some real hot weather.
Overall, better in some ways than the stock gasket. But, the fogging issue is a problem for now, and I never got any fogging using the stock gasket.

It’s fine, comes with 2 thicknesses of padding that simply Velcros onto it. It’s a little less comfortable than the original but it won’t soak sweat which is inevitable when playing certain games like bestsaber. I might get another so the headset can be used at parties and let people use a separate cover to others.

Absolutely amazing for the price. Not only is the material for the face plate a lot more hygienic and easier to clean. The plastic fascia is a little thinner bringing your eyes closer to the lenses and improves the fov a lot more than I expected. If you have a G2 and for the price this is a must. Absolute game changer.

Really good quality build, complete with magnet fittings and a choice of two face foams in soft leather type finish. Much better than printed products currently on sale. Gets your eyes closer to the lenses to increase “sweet spot” and improve field of view. The obvious upgrade for an excellent vr headset.
Slight downside is that the very close faceplate does feel warmer and can get a bit sweaty after an hour or so of continuous use – probably a good time to take a break at that point!
