Sony make some fantastic noise cancelling headphones and these are brilliant at their price point. You’d have to look to spend significantly more (£200+) to get something demonstrably better.

The Sony app allows customization of the sound, as well as allowing a ‘learning’ mode for the ANC (Noise cancelling). The earbuds themselves are light and come with 3 different sized tips, making fitting simple and comfortable. The sound quality is excellent, with great mid range clarity and enough bass to make them enjoyable to listen to. I tried several tracks, including classical, rock and reggae and all performed excellently.

Highly recommended, you won’t be disappointed, especially at the price.

I decided to try some more expensive earbuds (mainly) to see how the noise cancelling compares with my cheap earbuds – my Soundcore A3i (which were roughly £30 at the time of purchase). So I bought these Sony earbuds for the comparison. And in terms of the sound cancelling I’m disappointed with the Sonys, the cheap soundcore’s are better. However the Sonys are better in all other respects, the shape and fit is perfect, the sound quality is excellent, the phone app is excellent. I love the physical buttons, and they dont make a loud clicking noise in your ear when pressed.
My soundcores are excellent at eliminating motorway road noise when travelliing in a car, the sony’s are not nearly as good. London underground tube noise, the sonys have good isolation and the sound cancelling helps as well, but they mainly seem to reduce the tube noise they dont really cancel it, (I havent yet tried my soundcores on the tube).

High standard of manufacture, as with all Sony products. Very stylish design, I love the charging case. Top quality audio, the app allows you to really fine tune your sound preferences (some people like more bass, some more treble, you do you). I did find that when fitting them into my ears I kept pressing the buttons in the middle, guess I’ll get used to that minor issue. Very comfortable fit in my ears with the middle size cup but they do provide you with smaller and larger cups. Personally I think for the £91 I paid they are clearly worth the money.

    Brilliant quality in ear buds.
I work in sound engineering so can positively vouch for these having tried many varieties, and once again as a high end model these SONY ones shine through Sonys professional development.
(at last) Sony have sorted out the accompanying app (which also automatically updates the firmware with lots more features!
So they are REALLY easy to use, and tweaks and tailor to suit you (it runs test to tailor them specifically to you).
    This makes a HUGE difference.
They are also Immersive Dolby Atmos and 360 Reality FULLY HD compatible so the sound is frankly awesome.
They are small enough to sleep in, and comfortable to wear.
    The call/assistant features are clear.
The integral buttons can be programmed to do whatever YOU want them to do, and the push tap is so much better than silly strokes!
Supplied with multiple silicone fit sizes and a usb cg charging cable to charge the included case which also provided many more charges in a small easy to carry case.
The noise cancelling is good (as always depends and correctly fitting) and the sound quality is brilliant as you would expect from Sony.

I had a pair of Google Buds Pro. Sound was decent but the earbuds kept falling out. Eventually one earbud was lost. Noise cancelation was OK but not great.

Ordered Sony Wf 1000 Mx5. The sound they produced was 5/5 absolutely amazing. But they were the most uncomfortable buds I have ever tried. Heavy. Shiny (in a bad way). And the tips were very hard. Had to return them. As I couldn’t get a proper seal, noise cancelation was not noticeable.

Sony C700n are the best of both worlds. The sound is on par with Google Pixel buds Pro. At least 4/5. They are super light. They have extremely comfortable. Because they have a good seal the noise cancelation feels far superior to either Google Pixel Buds Pro or Sony WF 1000 MX5. Highly recommended!!!

To be fair, I got these as backups for my headphones (Sony WH-1000XM3). I wasn’t expecting as good noise cancellation, but I can’t hear any benefit from the noise cancellation. I hear no difference between the earbuds with noise cancellation turned on and it turned off with the app. I tried in several different environments: same negative results.

Ambient sound mode does work. (Ambient sound mode should not be confused with noise cancellation – it is the opposite in that it amplifies the outside sound for when you want to hear what’s going on around you.)

Apart from the noise cancellation, the other problem I have is that I cannot embed the earbuds in my ears sufficiently to reliably stay in when I am walking. I keep having to push them back in. I have tried all three size silicon tips without success. This is more than merely a nuisance: I worry I will drop an earbud where I can’t retrieve it, making their use far from relaxing.

Apart from those major issues, these are pretty good. They are small and light, and the carrying case is convenient to use. I like that they automatically connect with my phone when removed from the case. I had trouble initially pairing, but after fully charging and trying a few times, I was paired with my phone. I just listen to audiobooks, and the sound quality is more than adequate for that – unless drowned out by bus, car, or traffic sound.
