    Sound quality is very good.
The real let down is the fit .
The headphones are loose and I do not have a small head .

Β I wanted the majority studio 1 for general home use, but also to entertain me on the commute to work in the morning, and is easy to fold up once finished in use. Also what is good is the fact that included is a travel bag so once I have used it after the commute to work, I can put them in the travel bag and then put them into my rucksack, so they are even more protected. I like the fact that it has a closed back, meaning that when you have pulled the headphones fully apart, and they can be professionally monitored because you can constantly check on if it is irritating you and adjust depending so it’s adjust to your head size, so it is comfortable or whatever head size you have big or small and can even be worn over glasses, also it is very easy to fold once it has been finished in use and stick into the supplied travel bag. It is very lightweight so it is easy to carry around in the travel bag as the headphones aren’t very heavy and also they are very light weight so it fits around your ears and feels as though you are wearing nothing at all. The sound is very powerful and comes out in stereo. ensure that the sound is rich and the tones are mellow and even. The audio is crystal clear, and the clarity is so good that you can hear every single note, accentuated and there is no hiss, no matter what level of volume you can turn it all the way up and it doesn’t distort.
The ear pads are cushioned with foam, so that your ears don’t feel sore when using the headphones and also the headband is cushion with foam as well so it doesn’t irritate around the top of the head. I like the fact that the audio cable is fully extendable when it needs to be plugged into a device, but then when you have finished, it can easily be folded round the headphones so that the headphones don’t take any space if not being used in the travel bag and just carries around or carried in the rucksack. That’s why the audio cable is coiled.
The last point, I would like to make is 3.5mm & 6.5mm Audio Jack Adaptor it’s very handy as there are two adapters so depending on what Audiojack your product uses, you can plug the headphones into your products and make use so that means you can plug the headphones into an amplifier and listen to your music that way. All in all, I would definitely recommend you purchase this without a doubt.

(The Majority Studio 1 have far exceeded reasonable expectations. I would gladly buy another pair, or recommend them. Five stars because 95% is fair, four stars would not be.)

I will try to be brief, but the subject deserves more than a one-sentence review. Firstly, the description and details explain the hardware of the Studio 1 headphones: Jack plugs, impedence, and driver size, are clearly stated, so there’s no need for me to repeat them.

There is a discrepancy, which may prove negligible to most people. The stated weight is 308g, but the included leaflet (U.K.) has it as net 376g. (The nerd in me needed to weigh the headphones & lead – minus the 6.5mm adaptor – and the scales showed 370g. Curious…but little practical difference to me. My china mug – empty – is 435g.)

In summary (further to product listing):
(n.b. hours of listening, not knee-jerk, or reviewing on a donee’s behalf.)
    – Noise Cancelling: None (active or otherwise). Ideal…for me. No manufacturing cost on what is often gimmick electronics that adds another variable to lifespan.
    – Wired: Again, no manufacturing cost on what some see as unnecessary electronics. “Wireless/Bluetooth” and “Studio” are not easy to reconcile as target qualities for headphones.
    – Closed back: Far from “Ear Defenders”, but external sounds are muffled to a small extent.
    – Coiled cable: Lighter than it looks in the pictures (4mm diameter), but the tension when stretched to 3m might be irritating (extension possibly needed). Otherwise, sturdier and far less hassle than featherweight components.
    – Comfort: Pleasantly soft cups. They are proper “around” – not “pressing against/on” – the ear. Fine for S/M ears, larger ears would mean a slight squeeze. Modest tension/grip – hard to quantify, but head-banging is likely to dislodge the headband. (For reference, I have quite a small head – 55cm for motorbike helmet – and at the smallest setting, the headband only lightly rests on my head. At full extension, there is a vertical gap of about 7cm…macrocephalics perhaps?)
    – (Apologies for the late arrival)…Sound Quality (some want visual “pose” value, but “Sound” is by far the most important criterion for most people): Can the Studio 1 headphones work well in the very broad suggested applications? I wanted them just for enjoying music. Belfast Child by Simple Minds is a reasonable test (because of the tonal range within the song. Not necessarily everyone’s idea of a great tune, but this is a Customer review, not a full-spectrum magazine test). I’m not qualified to say if they have the ideal neutrality of high-end Studio headphones, but they do not have thumping bass or vivid treble (capable of either) unless I arrange for that at source. In my opinion (and I have very good hearing), they are impressive. I did not experience “chronic noise” as claimed by one reviewer…most odd.
At 32Ξ©, they seem well-suited for my phone, not limited to a dedicated amplifier. Sonically competent, and they do not quickly drain the battery.
    – Noise Isolation: Many people are very confused about what this means and think it is the same as noise Cancellation. Put simply, it’s whether what is playing through the headphones can be heard by other people nearby. I was listening to Knights of Cydonia (Muse) at a “spirited” volume, removed the headphones, gently pressed the cups against each other and with the headphones a hand-span from my face, I could barely hear what was playing through them in an otherwise slient room.
    – Visually, and Build Quality: The pictures do not lie. Make of that what you will. I think that in both respects they are very good, especially for the cost.

I have owned a wide variety of mid to high-end major-brand headphones. I had not heard of Majority until I took a bit of a risk on a Soundbar for my TV. At the price that I paid, the Soundbar is exceptional. That’s why, after examining many spec’s and reviews, I was very pleased to come across the Studio 1 and find that they were well within my price-range (these are NOT “budget” headphones in the sense of “cheapo”. That is a misunderstanding of the word. If the budget is up to Β£1,500, the Sennheiser HD 800 S are a viable option because they are within budget.) Are these Majority headphones good for the money, and a safe bet in a market with many choices? To my mind, emphatically “Yes”.

Finally, “bedding in” speakers, as with “running in” an engine, is not a myth. But right out of the box, I am very happy with my purchase – hopefully they will age well.
Oh, the “L” and “R” labels are camouflaged. I managed to locate them unaided, but for the impatient, the cable is attached at the left side πŸ™‚

(Is this a fake, or a review of a free pair? Absolutely not. Unsolicited, my own cash, and no favours or reward for this review. Why the quote from a film as a Review Title? Majority’s aim seems to be rather than beat the competition, the idea is establish design criteria, and endeavour to meet these).
