Brought this for my daughter, and it’s amazing, tells you what lane to use, and the street name’s you need to turn down, really good value for money and fast delivery. 👍

Voice recognition is not very effective. The device also crashes occasionally. The routes was wrong once as well

Still early days after purchase but in respect of its primary function as a Sat Nav, it is good. The sound quality isn’t brilliant but it is audible and loud enough.

The only negatives are around connectivity. Firstly, although it has WiFi, you can’t use it to download the latest software and maps (which are inevitably out of date as it is not a current model) unless the device is charged. You can’t charge it with the USB cable supplied, as this is only for software/map downloads and it doesn’t charge the device. Bizarre.. So you have to buy another cable, which I bought on Amazon for £3.99. This was a game-changer, as it charges and allows downloads from your PC/laptop. It also means that you can power the device from a USB socket in the car; the supplied power source requires a cigar lighter, and not all modern cars have one.

Second issue, is no big deal but it would be good to have voice commands over the car stereo via Bluetooth but try as I may, I can’t get it to pair with my wife’s MINI, despite the car and device both having Bluetooth. It recognises the MINI but fails to connect every time.

So VfM is excellent and it achieves the basics I wanted but come on, Garmin, supply an appropriate USB cable and make it easy to connect to stereo via Bluetooth.

Addendum – Garmin Product Support confirmed that this model will not connect to car stereo for audio output via Bluetooth.

Navigation system is Unreliable and can’t be trusted. Will take you into dead roads and into major traffic. GOOGLE. Maps is so so much better, I’ve gone back to using my phone.

The SatNav couldn’t even find a train station. Also this device only works if constantly plugged in to a power source the minute you pull the power cord the battery last 2 minutes then starts telling you battery is low befor dying.

You get two leads with the sat nav. You have the option to run it from the cigarette lighter or via usb cable.
my cigarette charging point is occupied by my dash cam.
The USB lead GARMIN give you is ridiculously short and impossible to reach the windscreen while plugged in. Why would they have not made it slightly longer ?
Also no light indicating the stanav is charging when turned off. Even the simplest electronic items have a charging indicator.
To late for me to return the item. Wish I had unboxed it earlier.
