I can’t wear in-ear earbuds. They irritate my auditory canal. These are lightweight, non irritant, over ear headphones with good sound quality sound. Very inexpensive and great value for money. Highly recommend.

I only wear over-ear headphones and I started using the neckband style over 10 years ago with an expensive Samsung set that was only slightly more portable than classic over ear headset as it had a rigid neckband. It was an OK set, but 3 years ago I found this “Marathon” collapsible set, under a different brand name then, and I’ve enjoyed it since, as it takes no space at all. One edge has starting to loosen though, so I put on a bit of tape and looked for a replacement, and found this identical set.
It’s still called “Marathon” (Marathon2 to be exact), just under a different brand, and although it feels identical, I can see it has been upgraded to support the AAC codec in addition to the standard SBC. The AAC codec can offer better quality, but mostly on Apple devices – most Android phones don’t handle AAC as well, so you might want to stick with SBC for those (if your phone supports it you will be able to choose codec in the Bluetooth device settings).
The pairing is super easy – you just hold the power button until it starts changing colours, and you can find it in your phone/laptop bluetooth list as “Marathon” to connect to. The instructions tell you how to pair with up to 2 devices.
The audio quality is very good – don’t expect extra bass like many cheap headsets try to do, it is quite balanced sound that I personally prefer. Most over ear headphones say “noise cancelling” in the sense that they cover your ears. These small headsets do not really cover them as a “cup”, which has some advantages (I find it less tiring to wear) and disadvantages (they don’t really block much environment noise). In effect, while they are fine in the train during my daily commute, I’ve been to some cities where the metro systems have loud whistling sounds where you can’t use something like this. I do prefer the comfort overall over the “cups”, less pressure and less sweat.
My old set came with a small carry case, which I didn’t use as much as I should perhaps, and it is a shame it is now not included, but extra earpads are included, which is a nice touch. From experience I know that they can last a long time, although you should be at least a bit careful – but in general they can live happily in pockets with no problems.
Still a 5* value though with that caveat about very noisy environments, but in all I find it very comfortable, with good quality and a battery that holds days of use.

I have an old iPhone and was very disappointed by the lack of wired, on-ear headphones available for it so I decided to move to a blue tooth device instead. These AEAK headphones are very light (about 36g) and compact. They tend to curl up neatly when you are not wearing them so that they easily go into the small black material bag that comes with them. When I get the headphones out to put then on, it usually takes me a second to work out how the plastic connector between the two earpieces pulls out into the correct shape, but it always does. This connector runs along the back of your head when the headphones are on and is just the right length for me – not too loose of tight, with the earpieces reasonably comfortable over each ear. I have not used them for exercising yet but I am fairly confident that they will stay in place for the light exercise that I do. Pairing the earphones with my phone was very simple using the instructions provided and the headphones now work immediately with the phone every time. The headphones charge up easily using the micro-USB lead provided and the charge lasts quite a while. You switch the headphones on by pressing the button on the centre of the right headphone for two or three seconds at which point a blue lighting on the headphone starts to flash at intervals. Switching off is by pressing the same button again for a few seconds at which point a red-light briefly flashes and you hear a tone to confirm that it is going off. I personally would have preferred a simpler on/off switch as I am never sure how long you need to hold the button down for. If you accidentally leave the headphones on you will drain the power quicker. Along with the central button that is used for on/off and pairing, the surrounding circle can be pushed at four points to carry out other functions, volume up and down and forward or back. I have never used these as I would find them hard to use when on my ears and, I find it much easier just to change the volume on my phone or make changes on the app that is playing the sounds, rather than using controls on the headphones. The sound quality is good, and these are now the standard headphones that I use for listening to audiobooks or music when I am out and about. I am very happy with these headphones and appreciate that I probably am not using them to their full potential.

This is my second pair of these headphones, first one I accidently put through the wash! Super comfy, lightweight, stay on easily, forget I’m wearing them! Very good sound, can make and take calls without pulling out phone.
