I bought the monitor to replace my old Asus VN247. I had it for 10 years. It worked well, but I spend a lot of time at the computer and it hurts my eyes. I decided to change it to a new, eye-friendly one. Unfortunately, this model turned out to be a great disappointment. Controlling options using poorly marked, barely noticeable buttons is inconvenient and causes the monitor to accidentally turn off the power. It was similar to the old model, but now it is worse. The marking is on the side and barely visible. The screen quality is lower than I expected. The video is fine to watch, but for office applications, the resolution is worse than on my old monitor and my eyes get even more tired. I sent the monitor back.

If you’re looking for a budget monitor but don’t want to sacrifice quality, you can’t go wrong with these.

I have a dual monitor set up for work and these wide screen allow me to have a nice space to work with and the colours and detail are very easy on the eyes. They’re only 1080p, but they do the job perfectly.

Bought to replace an ageing first generation Samsung LCD display sold with a HP tower unit package in 2012. The i3 HP keeps going on upgraded with an SSD, 16Gb but the original monitor was long in the tooth by today’s standard of screen design. This monitor is just HD resolution with fast screen refresh. No point in buying a fancy monitor if you graphics card / motherboard doesn’t support the definition. That would be a waste of money also with higher resolutions text on earlier apps can get a bit small. Been their with my OLED HP All in One. Part the image quality of that made me up grade the office work horse.

Connected via a DVI to HDMI lead. The video out from the old computer supported DVI and VGA. This monitor comes with an HDMI cable (at both end). Reckoned a DVI connection was better than using the existing VGA cable. Bought that separately.

Good viewing angle unlike the original Samsung panel. Considerably brighter and sharper. Haven’t had a need to change the presets. It’s well recommended in reviews. Going above this size is not really recommended for office use. A useful German YouTube video on that, so decided not to be tempted by the next size up unless you sit miles away. Trade off is office work v video viewing e.g.. using it as a TV where the big screens come in.

Like the Samsung it replaced I have it standing on a book. Alternative arrangements are available. There is no height adjustment on the stand.

I use self-assembled computer with ASUS motherboard. I assumed it would work well with ASUS monitor. It does. No installation disk or stick is included. You would need to find a driver on the internet and install it. Otherwise, it will operate as a general device with possible image distortion.
    Highly recommend.

clear video and easy to read text. 27in is just a bit on the big side for my liking, but a very good screen.
